Image
Hey friends! With Christmas season around, today I am going to write about the Christmas Wonderland happening in Singapore. Christmas Wonderland is an annual fest organized in the huge green space of Gardens by the Bay. This year it started from 1st Dec and will continue till 26th Dec 2017. The ticket will cost you $8 if you book online which you have to do at least a day before you want to visit and $10 if you buy it directly from the counter. The place is very close to Bayfront MRT, otherwise taxi is always an option. The fest is more like a carnival with a lot of activities going on ranging from rides for children, fun games, circus, various cuisines, etc. I will tell you about all the activities of interest one by one. 1. The lighting No festival is complete without the lights. There are as many as 80 various Luminarie light sculpture installations all around the garden including 22.5m high Spalliera wall. With various Christmas lightings all aro

A night out at Changi Airport-Singapore

Singapore is comparatively a small country but it is the most happening place to live in. At no pint of time you will feel bored here. Despite various fests an activities going on I find Changi Airport one of the coolest  place to hang out. We have been to Changi airport few times for traveling purpose and we were always intrigued by the place. Since very long time we were planning for a night out there. This wish came true with the news of my parent in laws visiting Singapore. Since there flight's landing was scheduled for 4:00am, me and my husband decided to spend whole night exploring the place. Thankfully my husband supports me in these kind of weird activities. Despite of a lot many shops and outlets at Changi airport, in this post I am going to focus only on the things that I found attractive and interesting. So we reached there at 12 midnight by last bus from our place. You can use other conveyance options like mrt and taxi too. The bus drop

Ladakh Continued...

Hey readers! It's been a while since I uploaded a new post. So after reaching Ladakh today I am going to write about the places to visit in Ladakh, which will be followed by places to visit nearby Ladakh in subsequent posts. Since we were really tired of the journey from last two days so we decided to rest at Leh for two days and do some local sight seeing. Here's my husband talking about the journey to Ladakh valley. We booked a taxi for local sight seeing which is available on various prices depending upon the attractions you want to visit. You can book them either on daily basis or as package. Since the taxi drivers there follow the union rule so charges are more or less constant. We opted for daily basis as we had planned our journey in a way that after a trip to near by tourist spot we were able to rest at Leh city for a day or two. Otherwise you can opt for a round trip in which you can stay at Leh for few days and then travel to Nubra Valley followed by Pangong La

Road to Ladakh - via Manali (Day2) Second day of our trip started with a beautiful morning at Sarchu. The night was bit rough for my husband. Cold weather, mountain sickness and indigestion, everything attacked at once. But we were prepared for this and were carrying medicines with us, so situation was managed. In addition the morning view of the place was rejuvenating and breathtaking. With huge mountains on both the sides, we human appear to be miniscule part of this universe. We had our breakfast and left for the journey further, by 9:00am. Though sun was high on the sky still the weather was cold. Here I will like to mention that we were still with in the boundary of Himachal Pradesh. But soon after leaving Sarchu, territory of Jammu and Kashmir starts. It is interesting to note here that border between HP and J&K is marked by a river. Once you cross the river, you are in J&K. This picture is taken just after entering J&K. Leh is still 251kms away which is a day

Road to Ladakh - via Manali (Day1) In continuation to my previous post, now I will be discussing the journey to Ladakh by road. This can be done via Manali or via Srinagar. Since we went via Manali and it took us two days thus I will elaborate the first day here .  I always recommend traveling by road to Ladakh as it is a beautiful journey with nature at its best. You can actually feel that you are entering a different world. But here you need to keep in mind that roads are open only from June  to Mid September, after the snow is cleared by Boreder Roads Organisation. BRO is an Army support organization which builds and maintains road in this region. No matter how many times you visit Ladakh by road, experience will be new every time. This is because of the fact that roads will be different every year depending upon snowfall, landslide, glacial melt and the amount of work BRO was able to do. Since it is made by Army hence it is safe for any type of heavy vehicle. In fact yo
Ladakh - A World beyond Words!!! Ladakh, land of high passes, is a region in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. It has an incomprehensible mountain beauty and culture. Everyone, whether you love traveling or not should visit this place and you will know that this world is definitely a better place to live. I will be covering different parts of this trip in separate posts as it requires a great deal of description. First I will be discussing about how to reach Ladakh. Ladakh is accessible both by air flight and road. Flight It is well connected with major cities of India via flight like Delhi, Jaipur, Srinagar, Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kochi, etc. Due to high mountain winds in the afternoon, all flights take off and land only in the morning hours. Road Ladakh is connected by road both via Manali and via Srinagar. Till Manali and Srinagar you can travel either by luxury bus, train, taxi or flight. After Manali and Srinagar following options are availa
