Christmas Wonderland - Celebrating Christmas in Singapore

Hey friends! With Christmas season around, today I am going to write about the Christmas Wonderland happening in Singapore.

Christmas Wonderland is an annual fest organized in the huge green space of Gardens by the Bay. This year it started from 1st Dec and will continue till 26th Dec 2017. The ticket will cost you $8 if you book online which you have to do at least a day before you want to visit and $10 if you buy it directly from the counter. The place is very close to Bayfront MRT, otherwise taxi is always an option.

The fest is more like a carnival with a lot of activities going on ranging from rides for children, fun games, circus, various cuisines, etc. I will tell you about all the activities of interest one by one.

1. The lighting

No festival is complete without the lights. There are as many as 80 various Luminarie light sculpture installations all around the garden including 22.5m high Spalliera wall. With various Christmas lightings all around, the place transforms completely by the evening. In addition there's the light show for beautiful end to your trip.

2. Art & Craft Market

A variety of art and craft shops are available at the place. They include hand bags, home décor, perfumes, etc. If you are art lover then you will definitely end up buy something as a lot of pretty things are available.

3. Food market

To pamper your taste buds there are many food stalls including non veg, sea food, meals, drinks, desserts and not to forget beer and other beverages. In addition there's an exclusive stall for wines by NTUC fair price. If you are lucky you may get some Christmas deal. Worried about rain? Not a problem this year they have a very interesting seating area which is all covered.

4. Rides and Games

For children, the number of rides have increased this year. There are few more other then merry go round and train. The fun games are mostly same as last year but they are always addictive and enjoyable. All those soft toy prizes attract not only kids but also the adults.

5. Circus Abyssinia

This year the main attraction of this fest is Circus Abyssinia from Ethiopia. Showcasing gravity-defying stunt, jaw dropping actions and spectacular skills, this circus is a must watch. There's separate ticket for entry to circus arena which costs $12 for an adult.

6. Skating under the Stars

For this year's fest the skating arena is different from last year. Rather then indoor, the setup is arranged out door. The activity is open to all age groups but its mostly the children and there parents who were taking part. Since it is outdoor, hence everyone can stop by and enjoy the view. It was great to see kids fall and rise and ultimately learning to skate

7. Santa's Grotto

Here you can meet the man himself - Santa. With a chance to get present from the Santa, you can take beautiful pictures of yourself with various installations and life sized reindeers. The entry to Grotto is through a forest of Christmas trees which itself is very beautiful.

8. Performances

Starting from 7pm there is line of performances which include Christmas carol, Blizzard time at Spalliera wall and Garden Raphsody at Supertree groove. If you have missed one show nothing to worry about, they all will be repeated till 9pm.

By the end of the evening you will be too enchanted by the place to leave it.
Its a nice place to visit with friends, family and kids. Children definitely enjoy the festival with all the games, lights and rides around but you can see adults having equal amount of fun.

Please share how you liked the place in comments section.
